QR menus that survive price changes and seasonal rotations
Why printed codes should point at editable destinations, and how to keep scans fast in dim dining rooms.
Table tents and stickers with QR codes are cheap to print but painful to reprint every time the menu changes. Pointing codes at a short URL you control means updates happen in the dashboard, not at the print shop.
Operational rhythm
- Keep one QR per location or per seating zone if you need different languages or allergen PDFs.
- Stage new PDFs or web menus on a draft URL, then flip the redirect at open—no mid-service sticker swaps.
- For daily specials, land on a page block you can edit without changing the main menu file.
Scanning in the real world
Use high contrast, generous quiet zone, and a size guests can scan from their seat without leaning over neighbors. Test on older phones under your actual lighting; warm dim venues punish tiny codes.
